Weekly Happies
Things that brought me joy, made me smile, favorite things...
Home. My love for our home has grown exponentially over the past year. Not just the space, but the location, too. We took an afternoon walk the other day, and got to meet the new baby lambs at the High School’s ag farm. How fun is that?! Our home has served as an anchor, a safe space, a warm hug. It embraces the chaos and messes because it knows that’s where the memories are made. I’m still working on that bit myself though…
Dinner with my 3 fellas. We implemented family dinners at the table a few years ago, and it is a highlight of my day. We say a prayer together, we talk about our days, and we negotiate how many bites until the tiny humans can be excused. The boys have this nightly tradition of taking a bite of food, then jumping up to have Daddy check their muscles. They then run around and try to lift any heavy-looking object in sight. It is hilarious, and those moments make up some of my most cherished memories.
Family. From weeknight dinners to day trips, I’m feeling very thankful for the people we get to call family.
Sweet Scoops Ice Cream. The BEST ice cream around. I now require that we have at least two of their flavors in our freezer at all times. Max’s favorite is the Lavender Honey (talk about a Wine Country kid!).
Dutch Bros Coffee. I think most parents would agree that coffee is a necessity. Like air and water. We are huge Dutch Bros fans for many reasons. One of them being the incredible energy they radiate. Another of them being that they make a White Chocolate Lavender Cold Brew with soft top that is life changing.
Fresh Flowers. Instant mood booster. I love cutting Spring blooms from the yard and displaying them around the house. But, you know what’s even better? When your husband and kids bring fresh roses home from the store. #luckylady
New Perfume. Wes got me this new scent for Valentine’s Day, and it smells delightful! It also has a super cool story: It was created in 2006 to mark the 40th anniversary of the Florence flood. It is dedicated to the Mud Angels, youth from all over the world who flocked to Florence after the devastating flood of November 4, 1966 to save the heart and history of the city
Olive & June Polish. I am a recent O&J convert, and I will never go back. Current fave color: XOXO.
Vacation Plans. We have a trip to Hawaii planned for the end of May (a reschedule of a 2020 vacation), and it is finally feeling like it will actually happen! So, now I’m daydreaming about the Mai Tyler from Fleetwoods, and a pineapple soft serve from the Maui Pineapple Store.
Glass Storm Door. A random thing to bring joy, but I L-O-V-E our glass storm door. It shattered a while back, and I didn’t realize how much I had missed it until we got it repaired. It’s that “indoor/outdoor living” that you always hear people talk about on HGTV.
