Weekly Happies - Vol. 3
Weekly Happies
Things that brought me joy, made me smile, favorite things...
Oreos + Milk. Wes and the boys have this special tradition of having Oreos and milk as a treat after dinner. It’s always a surprise, and I can’t help but smile as Wes sneaks downstairs holding the goodies in his hands. The boys jump out of their seats and sit cross legged on the carpet surrounding Daddy and the mug of milk. It’s one of those very simple moments, but it will stay with me always.
Date Night With My Hubby. They don’t happen quite as often as we’d like, but when they do, these date nights fill my cup so much. A couple hours of uninterrupted conversation, and a delicious meal is food for the soul. If you’re in Sonoma, check out La Salette. It’s one of our favorite date night spots.
Jumping On the Trampoline. I don’t get on there too often because, #mombladder, but let me tell ya: jumping on a trampoline is still as fun as it was when we were kids. And, it’s an excellent workout.
Caitlyn. Our RoboVac, aka my best friend. She’s helping me keep my sanity by vacuuming up the insane amounts of hair falling off our ginormous dog. Deep breaths…
A Functional Dryer. Ours wasn’t heating so it took about 7 cycles to dry one load. We finally got it repaired, and OMG that is so much more efficient! ;)
Reading Elephant and Piggie Books With the Boys. I am a huge Mo Willems fan. His writing and illustrations are absolute perfection, and we all let out belly laughs as we read. Our favorites are Can I Play Too?, Waiting is Not Easy, and A Big Guy Took My Ball.
Catching Up On This is Us. Wes took the boys fishing last weekend and this is when I usually binge This is Us. I caught up on 4 episodes last Saturday. And yes, I ugly cry during pretty much every episode.
At Home Spa Treatments. A little self care goes a long way. One of my favorites is to do a face mask on the weekends. My go to is the Recharge Detox mask from Rodan and Fields.
Cadbury Mini Eggs. I feel like there’s no explanation needed here.
A Peacock Sighting. We took a backroad through town the other day, and there was a peacock just hanging out. We stopped to watch it for a few minutes, and I was just as excited as the kids!
